The NHS recommend that children aged six have 10 hours and 45 minutes sleep a night and seven year olds have 10 hours and 30 minutes sleep.
Sleep Tips
- Keep regular sleeping hours. This programmes the brain and internal body clock to get used to a set routine.
- It is also important to try and wake up at the same time every day.
- Reading a book, reading together or listening to a story relaxes the mind by distracting it.
- Try to keep your child’s bedroom a screen-free zone, and get them to charge their phones/tablets/iPads in another room.
